One of these days I will update our insanely crazy up and down, down and up life...but right now I don't have the energy or shots needed to adequately report the story...so on to the story at hand...
I love the innocence of toddlerhood...it's so funny to see how little untainted minds work. Zane definitely gets away with more if he portrays that state of innocence. (Although, the other day he proved he is perfectly capable of "acting innocent" which was just as funny so he got off the hook for that offense as well).
example one: today in the bath zane emptied out close to half a bottle of shampoo. our bathtub wall is pretty high so all I could see was the top third of his body. so he proudly showed me the empty bottle and proclaimed he did it "by himself"... i seriously can't even afford a bottle of shampoo right now (that would be the down part of the life alluded to earlier) but really it was more cute and funny than anything so we bypassed the "how could you be so wasteful, lecture" ;)
example two: yesterday we went to pick zane up from my brother's house. he was in a great mood and had been a "perfect angel" the whole time. he and jerry (his cousin) were in the kitchen and we hear jerry start to cry while zane was running to me laughing and telling me to look. I asked him why Jerry was crying and he was laughing, he apparently (acording to him) hit the cup of water Jerry was holding (i'm not sure if it was intentional or not) the water got on Jerry and he thought it was hillarious. Jerry didn't, but it really wasn't a major smack down and his response was so funny that it was sort of difficult to chastize him. (although he did have to say sorry and give him a hug and we are working on the "showing sympathy" thing).
example three: (my favorite and, as usual, involved jerry) we were at my parents house and jerry and zane were in the family room while myself, lee, and jen were talking with our backs to the room in the breakfast area. we were interupted by jerry crying (again) however zane was all the way accross the room sitting in a rocking chair carefully studying a book on his lap....we were trying to figure out what happened to jerry (because obviously zane had nothing to do with it, he was immersed in his book on the other side of the room) jen then recalled a smacking sound and then the jetting super patter of little feet. realizing that zane probably was involved and seeing how he tried to pull off appearing innocent really just made me chuckle and think "wow, he is smart for two" so he was off the hook because it really was too humorous and jerry was ok. :)
anyway, toddlers are so funny. challenging at times but mostly funny and amusing.
I feel i should add that zane really isn't a bully, he is usually defending rather than initiating.

yay!! por fin actualizaste tu blog...i was about to delete you from my blog list since it had been like FOREVER!! :) your son is super cute! love ya!!!
Wow, he is smart. In our family its usually rory that's making spencer cry... she'll get what's coming to her one day when he's absorbed all the evil she's dished out.
Right now spencer is into opening and shutting doors. He's locked himself in my room twice in the past 2 days and freaks out the second he realizes I have to get a screwdriver and disassemble the knob. But his favorite thing is to hide in the coat closet under the stairs while he poops his diaper. At least he's only one room away from the potty. We'll get there some day!
By the way... Zane's such a cutie!
